The Waikato – Bay of Plenty area is region of contrasts from gently undulating lowlands and valleys to rolling hills, where kiwifruit was once the regions best known industry. Temperatures rainfall and humidity are very similar to Auckland. New vineyards are emerging from as far south as Te Awamutu to Cooks Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula.

Soils : Heavy loams over clay subsoils
